1. Who We Are
Le Collectif ("we", "us", "our") operates the platform at lecollectif.tv and associated services. We are a content marketplace connecting brands with independent creators for the production of authentic video and photographic content.
For the purposes of UK and EU data protection law, Le Collectif Ltd is the data controller for personal data collected through this website and our platform.
2. What Personal Data We Collect
We collect personal data in the following circumstances:
- Waitlist sign-ups: name and email address when you join our creator or business waitlist.
- Business enquiries: name, company name, and work email address submitted via our contact forms.
- Account registration (platform): name, email address, country of residence, payment details (processed by our payment provider — we do not store card numbers), and portfolio or content samples uploaded by creators.
- Platform activity: content briefs submitted, creator applications, content uploaded, messages exchanged within the platform, and transaction history.
- Technical data: IP address, browser type and version, device type, pages visited, and time spent on pages (collected via cookies — see our Cookie Policy).
3. How We Use Your Data
We use your personal data to:
- Add you to our early-access waitlist and send you platform launch updates;
- Respond to business enquiries and arrange introductory calls;
- Operate the platform — matching creators with briefs, facilitating content delivery, and processing payments;
- Communicate important account, platform, and legal information;
- Send marketing communications where you have given consent or where we have a legitimate interest to do so (you can opt out at any time);
- Improve and develop our platform based on usage analytics;
- Comply with our legal obligations.
4. Legal Basis for Processing
Under the UK GDPR and EU GDPR, we rely on the following legal bases:
- Contract: processing necessary to perform our agreement with you (platform users).
- Legitimate interests: sending service updates to waitlist members, fraud prevention, platform security, and product improvement.
- Consent: marketing emails (where required) and non-essential cookies.
- Legal obligation: where applicable law requires us to retain or disclose data.
5. Who We Share Your Data With
We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with:
- Service providers acting as data processors on our behalf: email delivery (e.g. Formspree), cloud hosting (Vercel), payment processing, and analytics tools. These providers are contractually bound to protect your data and use it only on our instructions.
- Other platform users to the extent necessary for the service — for example, a creator's name and portfolio are visible to brands reviewing briefs.
- Legal authorities where required by law or to protect our rights.
6. International Transfers
Some of our service providers are based outside the UK and EEA. Where personal data is transferred internationally, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place (such as Standard Contractual Clauses) in accordance with UK GDPR requirements.
7. How Long We Keep Your Data
- Waitlist data: retained until you unsubscribe or 12 months after our platform launches, whichever is sooner.
- Account data: retained for the life of your account and for 6 years thereafter to comply with legal and financial record-keeping obligations.
- Marketing data: until you withdraw consent or opt out.
- Technical/analytics data: typically aggregated and anonymised within 26 months.
8. Your Rights
Under UK and EU data protection law, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you;
- Rectify inaccurate or incomplete data;
- Erase your data ("right to be forgotten") in certain circumstances;
- Restrict processing of your data in certain circumstances;
- Data portability — receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format;
- Object to processing based on legitimate interests or for direct marketing;
- Withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent.
To exercise any of these rights, email us at privacy@lecollectif.tv. We will respond within 30 days.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) in the UK at ico.org.uk, or with your local supervisory authority in the EEA.
9. Security
We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. Our platform uses HTTPS encryption, access controls, and regular security reviews. However, no internet transmission is completely secure and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. Children's Privacy
Our platform is not directed at children under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors. If we become aware that we have collected data from a child without appropriate consent, we will delete it promptly.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you by email (where we hold your address) and update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of our services after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
